Life in lockdown is challenging. During these tough times we have seen some of the best of humanity and sense of community and over the next few weeks we’re asking customers to nominate someone they would like to recognise through our new social media campaign called #LoveInABox. This is a campaign for customers and we’ve got surprises for Postmasters too!

What is LoveInABox?
It’s a social media campaign which surprises our audiences on our social media channels, creating a buzz and ultimately create conversations and a sense of community. The campaign is expected to reach 4.6millions individuals across the UK!
Why are we doing it?
Our Post Office purpose is to be there for people who rely on us, but we recognising that not everyone can be there in person due to lockdown restrictions. This is a way for people to show their nearest and dearest some love and appreciation in a simple and small way.
The campaign will aim to bring a smile to someone who cares for others or for someone within the community who has supported neighbours, done their shopping in lockdown etc.
It’s also a nice way to encourage and inspire the general public to compile and send their own care packages to loves one, Special Delivery of course!
And it’s a great opportunity for Postmasters to encourage people to send a parcel using items in store - especially with Mother’s Day around the corner.
How long will it go on for?
It’s going to run for 4 weeks. We’ll have a different nomination theme each week and a care package tailored to the theme, with several care packages dispatched each week. We’re launching a preview on our social media channels this week. The campaign starts on Monday 22 February.

- w/c 1 March: Scentsational (candles and patch plants gift voucher)
- w/c 8 March: Nourish and fuel (fitness package)
- w/c 15 March: Pawfect pals (pet package)
What are we trying to achieve?
Throughout the four weeks we will be giving inspiration for others to create their own care package for loved ones, particularly for Mother’s Day. By running this campaign we can show Post Office services and showcase some of the fantastic products on offer through retail side in many stores.
What are we asking customers to do?
We’re encouraging customers to leave a comment on our weekly theme post on Facebook or Instagram, nominating someone they would like to receive a #LoveInABox care package, with a comment on why they deserve it.
How can Postmasters get involved?
We’d like to encourage Postmasters to use their Facebook and/or Instagram pages, to give gift inspiration from the products they sell in their stores to help their customers create their own care packages for loved ones.
What support are we giving to Postmasters?
We’ve created ready made social media posts for Postmasters to share via the #WeArePostOffice app. Postmasters who use the app and can create most engagement with their local community will receive some surprises! As with any competition, there are terms and conditions which you can view here
