We continue to modernise the network and open Post Office branches in communities across the UK. One of the latest branches opened at a service station in St Albans.
The Beech Road branch now operates from Shell King William Service Station. This station is one of the 438 UK station network operated by the St Albans’ based Motor Fuel Group. The branch is now open 112 hours a week – significantly longer than the previous branch offering customers a far more convenient service.
Anne Main MP for St Albans officially opened the branch and said: “We are delighted to have a Post Office in Beech Road again and with the added benefit of longer opening hours. The branch had been sorely missed by the community, so this re-opening is great news.”
Pirigash Raveendram, Contract Manager of Shell King William Service Station, said: “I’m really pleased to be able to offer Post Office services to our customers. We are already seeing more people through the door and so far the community feedback has been great.”
Tony Walker, Trading Director for Motor Fuel Group joined the opening event. He said: “We are delighted to open our first Post Office in MFG’s home town of St Albans. Offering Post Office services over the counter at our forecourts is convenient for our customers and we look forward to developing our relationship with the Post Office.”
Tom Moran, our Network Development Director added: “We are pleased to be able to restore Post Office services at the heart of the community in St Albans. This is the first Post Office with Motor Fuel Group and I hope we will open more to bring convenience to local communities. This shows that the modern Post Office is a great retail partner for a range of different businesses.”
